Ready for Fall? As the weather cools down, Houston heats up with family friendly activities and things to do around the city. Some of our favorite fall pastimes include visiting pumpkin patches to pick the perfect pumpkin, wandering around corn mazes and sipping on cider. These are some of our favorite Houston fall activities for families.
Pumpkin Patches, Corn Mazes and Farm Fun:
Dewberry Farm
Where: FM 362 and Morrison Rd Brookshire , TX , 77423
When: Weekends, September 24-November 13, 2016
Why: Dewberry Farm has a little bit of everything for all ages! From pumpkin picking, to the corn maze, to games and activities, you can spend a day at Dewberry Farm. The kids will love it, and you’ll start feeling the fall spirit.
Nature Discovery Center
Where: 7112 Newcastle, Bellaire, TX
When: October 15-16, 2016
Why: Nature Discovery Center has games, rides, food and more for family fun! Admission is free to Nature Discovery Center. Individual tickets are $0.50. About 18 different festival games are just 1 ticket each. Crafts, activities, and larger attractions can be 4 or 6 tickets each. Pumpkin Passes are $20 and can be used for games, activities, crafts, some food/drinks, and pumpkins. You get $22 worth of tickets and do not have to carry a stack of tickets!
Oil Ranch
Where: 23501 Macedonia Road Hockley, TX
When: Dates to be announced
Why: Oil Ranch is home to 56 Acres of fun and education. Petting zoo, Train, Hayride, Miniature Golf, Pony Rides, 5 Playgrounds, Sports Fields, Basketball Court, and Paintball. For over 20 years there has been the Houston pumpkin patch and Scarecrow Festival at the Oil Ranch. Many families make it a tradition to come to the Ranch and enjoy the fall festivities: hay ride, tour the scarecrow scenes, and see the thousands of pumpkins!
Froberg’s Farm
Where: 3601 West Hwy 6. Alvin, Texas 77511
When: September 24-November 4, 2016
Why: Come on down to Froberg’s Farm for their Fourth Annual Corn Maze and Fall Festival. Enjoy hay rides, flower garden pick, duck races, bean bag toss, face paitning, bushel basket toss and much much more. The corn maze is geared towards families, so you don’t need to be worried about ghosts, or pop-ups that will scare the kiddos.
P-6 Farms
Where: 9963 Poole’s Road, Montgomery, TX
When: September 24-November 13, 2016
Why: P-6 Farms has a variety of family friendly, and spooky adult activities to choose from this fall. All October, come to the U-Pick Pumpkin Patch to pick out pumpkins for the fall season. On October 29th, check out Candy in the Corn. This celebration is for kiddos, 12 and under, to come trick or treat in the corn maze from 2pm-4pm.For the older kiddos, check out the Haunted Corn Maze (Saturdays October 15th, 22nd, & 29th) for a spooky, haunted corn maze experience. The haunted corn maze is a separate maze on the hill away from family attractions.
Blessington Farms
Where: 510 Chisolm Trail Simonton, TX
When: September 24-October 30, 2016
Why: Come to Blessington Farms for all things fun and fall. Hours are Friday 9:30AM – 3:30PM; Saturday and Sunday 10AM – 5:00PM. There are plenty of activities for all ages like hay rides, giant slides, barrel train rides, pedal cards and a petting farm.
