2. Salsa Dance the night away at Downtown Aquarium

Why: We already love the Downtown Aquarium as a fun daytime activity. But this summer, we love it even more since they are offering free salsa dance lessons every Friday night through August. Come between 7pm – 11pm for salsa lessons taught by Texas Salsa Congress’ professional dancers. Plus, there will be performances from live bands on the last Friday of each month! This is a great date night option for summertime in Houston.
3. Learn and Explore at the Houston Museum of Natural Science

Why: The Houston Museum of Natural Science has a great mix of permanent exhibits, travelling exhibits, lectures, activities and events. Plus, during the summer, they offer Xplorations Summer Camp for kids ages 6-12. Your kids will love wandering through the Hall of Ancient Egypt, experimenting in the Wiess Energy Hall and catching a film at the IMAX theatre.
4. Venture on the water on the Sam Houston Boat Tour

Why: Explore the Port of Houston from the water on the Sam Houston Boat Tour. Relax in the air conditioned boat while you check out Houston from the water. The tour is FREE but reservations are required so be sure to book in advance! There is a 10:00AM and 2:30PM Tour.
5. Learn about the human body at the Health Museum

Why: While a health museum may not sound like fun – The Health Museum of Houston is actually pretty darn awesome. Walk through the Amazing Body Pavilion and get a up-close close look at the human body. You can ride a bicycle with a skeleton, sit on giant teeth and go on a 3D microscopic adventure to see the landscape of your own skin. This museum makes health and the human body, fun. Plus, they are offering summer discovery camps for kiddos.
