St. Patrick’s Day is upon us again. It’s time to drink green beer, put on our shamrock hats, wear green shirts and have a really good time.
Here is where you can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Houston this year.
Houston St. Patrick’s Parade
This free event taking place on March 11 is one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the country. The parade, which lasts about two hours, includes over 100 float entries ranging from dancers to historic cars. The parade starts at noon sharp — rain or shine! Join parade-goers and participants afterwards at Lucky’s Pub for the after party and award show.
St. Practice St. Paddy’s Pub Crawl Downtown
Gear up for St. Patrick’s Day at the St. Practice Day pub crawl, hosted by Nightcrawlers Pub Crawls. Participating bars include Bovine & Barley, El Big Bad, Molly’s Pub, Moving Sidewalk and more. Bar crawlers are encouraged to dress up in their best St. Paddy’s Day-themed costumes and green garb. Join in on the revelry on March 11 from 3pm to 8pm. Tickets range from $20 to $30, excluding taxes and fees.
St. Patrick’s Day in Market Square
Head over to Historic Market Square Park and take part in Irish-themed fun and games, live music and beer specials. Festivities will begin around 6pm. Attendees are encouraged to spend the evening exploring the neighborhood and local bars and restaurants. Admission to the event is free, drinks are available for purchase.
St. Patrick’s Day Party & Blues Jam at Fitzgerald’s
Fitzgerald’s is hosting a free parking lot party on March 17 that will feature live music performed by the blues man and southern rocker, Mark May. The St Patrick’s Day party will showcase spirits and beer specials from a variety of vendors. Proceeds benefit the National Down Syndrome Society. The party starts at 2pm and will wrap up at 9pm.
Under the Tent
Kenneally’s Irish Pub has been a Houston staple since the early 1980s which makes it the perfect place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year. The Irish Pub is celebrating its 34th annual St. Paddy’s fest with bagpipers, live music, step dancers, Irish stew, Guinness bread sandwiches, pizza, and of course, green beer.
