On a budget? No problem. Here’s how you can stretch $10 and still have fun around Katy.
1. Visit Katy Market Day
Where: 906 Avenue A
Happening on the third Saturday of each month from March through November, Katy Market Day combines locally-made or sourced goods with affordable prices. There’s no admission to enter. Guests can browse a variety of craft goods, lotions and soaps and other local items at the market. Market hours are between 10am and 4pm.
2. Put and play mini golf
Where: 2482 South Mason Rd
Put your way to across the miniature golf course with your friends, or bring the family along. Just $9 for kids and $10 for adults Katy’s miniature golf course is a fun alternative to expensive dates or costly family outings. Plus, kids under the age of three are free with an adult admission.
3. Try yoga

4. Catch a show at Alamo Drafthouse

Going to the movies can be expensive. From the ticket price to the popcorn, your tab at the theater can add up quick. Lucky for you, Alamo Drafthouse offers affordable matinee pricing. Just $8 gets you a ticket to see a movie before 6pm.
5. Find the Piggy Pibil food truck

6. Swing away at the batting cages

Swing away, and hit the Katy batting cages. Great for aspiring sports stars or those who want to try their hand at something new, the batting cages here in Katy can provide and afternoon of fun, for cheap. $10 will get visitors 108 balls, $2 will get you 18 chances to hit away.
7. Go roller skating at Kingdom & Wheels

Tighten up those skates and hit the rink at Katy’s Kingdom & Wheels. Admission to the rink is $8 without a skate rental, and $10 if you’re in need of skates. Check the website for specials, events, and class details.
8. Jump at Altitude Trampoline

Kids jump for cheap at Katy’s Altitude Trampoline gym. The indoor trampoline gym offers opportunities for young kids ages two to six, to jump, supervised of course, for just under $7 each Monday through Friday from 10am to 1pm.
9. Go for a swim

The weather is heating up. Cool off! Stop by one of Katy’s many public parks and dip your toe or dive right into the pool. Admission is affordable, and generally cheaper for kids, too.
10. Visit the Katy Heritage Museum
Where: 6002 George Bush Dr
Great for kids and history buffs and featuring antique farming equipment and artifacts from the city’s pioneering days, this museum provides a look into the past at what life was like for early Katy residents. Admission is free to the Katy Heritage Museum.
