Did you know that January is blood donation month? You can help celebrate and do something good for not just your community by across the entire country. Donating blood is one of the easiest ways to insure your efforts go to a good cause. There is always a need for donors and every donation can help make a difference. This is a quick and easy way to make a difference and start your new year off right!

Get a Fresh Start

January 25-31 is clean out your inbox week…this brings up a great point: get a fresh start. Even if it’s something a simple as getting your inbox queue under control it can make a big difference. The best way to start off the new year on the right foot is to clean it up, whatever that means for you, and move forward with a clean slate. It can feel really good to declutter, organize, delete all the emails you really can’t (or don’t want to) get to, etc.

Write Down Your Goals

Writing down your goals is a great way to start the new year. Not only do we tend to make more progress with things that are both verbalized and physically written down, we can also find more accountability in a physical list of items we want to achieve.

Resolutions are a great idea if they work for you; if resolutions are not your thing, stick to a goals sheet. It can be easier and more motivational to have a checklist of items or steps to get you where you want to be. Even the smaller things we want to achieve can help propel us forward on our overall journey.

Read a Book

You can never go wrong by trying to get a different perspective, learn something new, disappear into a far off world, or lose yourself in a storyline. Books can help us grow, they can also help us achieve our own goals. So turn off the TV for a few hours this year and dig into some great books.
